Did you know that a visit from a pet can have significant health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing anxiety and depression and helping combat loneliness? Just stroking an animal is known to reduce stress and anxiety, increase motivation and improve mood, and they can help encourage social interaction.
Many of our clients can no longer look after pets of their own. Bringing a dog visitor into the home can bring back wonderful memories and really improve someone’s feeling of wellbeing, as well as helping with recovery following an operation or illness.
Helen, our Befriending Service Co-ordinator is also a dog trainer and behaviourist. She assesses our team of dog befrienders and matches them with clients who would like a regular, or occasional, dog visit. If you are interested in joining our team of dog visitors or would like a visit yourself, please contact Helen -firstname.lastname@example.org 01608 652019
